The project proposed for the new School of Architecture of Castilla La Mancha in Toledo is based on the idea of being a light and ephemeral architecture in its new construction that recovers previous and abandoned buildings to give them use under the premise that only what is in use is maintained.

The intervention is carried out on the banks of the Tagus River, in a natural enclave flanked by the buildings of the Alcázar and the Military Infantry Academy in the East-West direction, and by the Alcántara bridge and its successor for vehicle traffic in the North-South direction.

It is a project in three phases:

  1. Teaching spaces on the ruins of the ancient artifice

  2. Administration and office spaces in the old mill building

  3. A connecting walkway between the two banks, which visually are so close but are truly so far apart.
